Every day, construction and maintenance tasks are performed on highways, city streets and country roads. Road construction workers on both highways and city streets are at high risk of severe or fatal injuries. And each year, thousands of workers who perform these tasks as well as the drivers, passengers and pedestrians who use the roads are killed or injured in work zone accidents. The majority of road work takes place in congested areas with exposure to high traffic volumes, low visibility, and inclement weather conditions. Moving construction vehicles and passing motor vehicle traffic can both cause problems for road construction workers. This training course discusses important ways to protect yourself, your co-workers and motorists in a road construction zone.Our Work Zone Safety training focuses on the hazards that are associated with performing roadway construction and maintenance, and the equipment and safe work practices that employees can use to avoid them.
